Punkins

I bought the coolest book at Goodwill the other day.... I know, it's the wrong time for punkins and spooky autumn stuff, but how could I resist these cool new crafty projects? These two definitely caught my eye, but there were so many other things I couldn't wait to try. And how could I resist such a bargain? $2.99 for this big fat book that retailed for $19.95 originally! Even if I only made one single thing from it, it would be worth it.

I loved Halloween as a kid. Who wouldn't? Any day that allowed you to amass mountains of candy and dress up like a princess had to be something special. As I got older though, it lost its magic. I was probably about 14 the last year I trick-or-treated and when our friend's dad looked at us and said rudely, "Aren't you a little old for this?" my Halloween spirit was crushed for years to come. But now that I've got a house and neighbors with cute kids that come to our house for treats, the fun of it all comes rushing back every October. I even convinced my holiday-phobic husband to carve pumpkins with me for the last 2 years. I think he especially enjoys our use of power tools to get the designs we want, even if we do find bits of pumpkin all over the kitchen for days after. Though I'm dying for spring, I almost can't wait until I can bust out these great projects.
