eBay Rocks!

I looooooove eBay! Look what lovely stuff I found on my front porch this afternoon.... a nice priority mail USPS box filled with lovely yarn! I got these 9 skeins of yarn, which are sooo soft by the way, for $2.79 a piece on eBay. They were all marked with $7 price tags so I got a deal. I thought the color was perfect for my charity knitting projects. The kids would probably rather have bright pretty stuff than boring old neutrals.

I've been told the kids need vests more than hats, so I will finish the 4th hat I've been working on and start with vests. I may have to revise my goal of knitting 10 pieces a month, at least for this month, since I got a late start. The vests will take me longer than the hats too. But I'm a girl obsessed, so hopefully I'll be able to keep up the pace. My right hand isn't too happy about this deal, as I force it to hold the needle too tight for too long, but too bad - there are cold munchkins who need me!

Knitting for Charity

I have been knitting like crazy! Can you believe I finished these three hats in only three days?! They are for a great charity I found online called Warm Woolies which sends handknit items to orphanages in Russia and are also helping out the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations in South Dakota area. I was adopted when I was 5 and am told I have ties to the Pine Ridge area myself, so this seemed like the perfect chance to knit and be useful at the same time. I plan to knit up to 10 items a month until around December when I will need to ship the items to Warm Woolies headquarters in Colorado.

If you'd like to help me in my goal, I'd gleefully welcome the donation of any worsted to bulky weight yarn in 100% wool. I'll even pay the shipping costs and put in a good word with the good karma fairy! Just e-mail me at: miss_tigerlily2005@yahoo.com . I know no one reads this silly blog, so I'm not holding my breath, but thanks for stopping by if you do :) You can also donate your yarn to Warm Woolies too!
